Alex Santos’ biggest challenge this summer might have very well been setting the record straight on the team name.

“Haha, first of all we are not named FC Villamaria because of the girls’ high school,” explained the captain following a 5-4 victory over San Marino. “It’s because we are all good friends that always play together on a field in Sainte Rose named Villemaire.”

The latest victory came as a man advantage resulting from a San Marino red card a third into the game was tempered by the loss of their regular keeper. FC Villamaria would tough it out. In fact, the current C1 Division leaders have been on a five-game tear since suffering a 7-0 beating at the hands of second-seed FC Minestrone – their only loss to date.
