Last winter they were the playoff darlings that did not disappoint. Today they are panel pariahs with something to prove.

The Toight Tigers, overlooked by nine different members of the Totalcampo brass, fired the opening shot of their improbable C2 Division championship run with a rather convincing 4-1 win over Trimax, relying largely on a four-goal performance by squad sniper Steven Gagne and another great defensive effort from a backline whose stinginess is matched only by that of heavy favourites Motovan, who they will now face in the semifinals Thursday. Former champs Supersata, meanwhile, will battle second-seed Rona FC following their narrow 3-2 victory over Channel 4 News.

LOOKING AHEAD TO WEEK 14 …

Queen of the World will look to prove the large majority of the playoff panel wrong as they battle les Bleus in the opening round of the St. Leonard postseason this Sunday.

On Tuesday, dark horse les Braves go up against the Champers in the FC semifinals. The on Thursday, Mighty FC will look to ride the momentum of a season-closing victory over Tutto Bene when they meet Compulsive Calcio in the B1 Division semifinals.
