Great teams go on wild tears. FC Jixon is on a mean one right now.

After starting the summer with a win, a loss and a tie, the B3 Division leaders have since won five straight. But that’s just the half of it. Their last two wins, both close calls, have come against their toughest opponents. That includes this past week’s 3-1 win over Real Betise, a team they now lead by a whole five points following lead sniper Etienne Kingili-Bangibangi’s two-goal performance. The third-seed Average Joe’s, meanwhile, failed to gain much ground on either of their two opponents following a disappointing 2-2 draw against the dead-last Aces.

LOOKING AHEAD TO WEEK 9 …

The Pink Panthers will look to snuggle up to Queen of the World in the standings when the two St. Leonard playoff hopefuls meet Sunday. On Tuesday, the struggling Bulldogs and B-Liners will battle for the sixth and final playoff spot in Laval’s FB Division.

In men’s action, FC Delorme will get another clean shot at undefeated Camvi when both B2 Division heavyweights meet in Laval late Wednesday.
