It looks like C2 head honchos Nuva Spa 2 and the All Blacks should have practiced losing a little more during the regular season.

“Any team in the playoffs can surprise, especially when all the teams are strong and everyone wants to win,” explained AS Dynamo captain Alex Kozlovsky following their 3-2 ousting of the All Blacks in the quarterfinals. “We did our best against a young and energetic team.”

It was an equally painful 4-3 loss for Nuva Spa 2, who had dropped only two games all winter. Lucky enough to still be looking forward, both Dynamo and Bashtone will now take on seeds three and four before they can start considering the most unlikely C2 championship matchup ever.

In other notable action, uncontested Groupe Aldo manhandled the Gunners 7-1 to capture the B4 Division championship, while unlikely hero Italtech inched past defending champs Don Bosco 3-2 – this after stunning FC Moldova in the semis – to capture the 35+ Division crown.

POTG: AS Dynamo sniper Iurii Tarasenko scored the free kick that sank the All Blacks and will continue to be the centrepiece of the squad’s arsenal going forward.
