Forget mothers and their firstborns; every coach has a soft spot for their youngest and most vulnerable.

“FC Sabbah JR is on fire right now,” declares coach Obaid Afghanyar in a short email, doing little to downplay his squad’s manhandling of C Division leaders FC Brossard by a score of 7-2 several weeks back. “We just had some bad games at the beginning of the season.”

Since dropping their first three games of the season Sabbah’s junior edition have lost just once in their last eight. The seniors, meanwhile, are holding their own with three wins in their last four starts – good for sixth seed in the ultra competitive B Division.
